Do I have to change my number?
No. You keep your mobile, your handset and your WhatsApp. Slate gives you an office number to put on your Google listing, your van and Checkatrade, and a call to it rings your mobile exactly as now.
When it rings, your phone shows your office number. If you miss it, Slate’s alert has the caller’s number on it: one tap rings them back.
Can I hear it before I sign up?

What does the text say? Can I change it?

Change every word, have a different one for out of hours, or switch it off. It sends one text and stops: it never chats to your customers.
What if they ring from a landline, or hide their number?
Texts go to UK mobiles only, so a landline caller doesn’t get one, but you still get the missed call with their number to ring back. A withheld number can’t be texted or rung back by anyone, and Slate tells you it happened.
Will I be charged without knowing?
No. £0 today, and the date your 14 days end is shown before you start and never moves. On day 11 you get a text from us, and on day 13 another. If you do nothing, your plan starts on the day shown, at the price shown.
How do I cancel, and what happens then?
Tap Cancel Trial in Slate and confirm. Your card is wiped there and then, and nothing is ever charged. Your line keeps catching calls until your 14 days are up, then it pauses.
Cancelling on day 13 does exactly the same as cancelling today, so there is no need to rush it. After the trial there is no contract: stop any time from Settings.
